When reviewing historical purchase orders to determine the cause of a price variance, having completed POs reflect current item file data rather than the values at the time they were received makes troubleshooting much more difficult. This is especially challenging in our environment, where multiple locations and employees are responsible for maintaining item files. A change as simple as updating a multiplier at one location can affect all sites, making it difficult to identify the source of a variance—particularly for someone who was not involved in making the change. Would it be possible to have the system preserve all item information on a purchase order once it has been received or completed?

What problem does this Idea solve?
Locking in the values that existed at the time of receipt would provide an accurate historical record and make investigating pricing discrepancies much easier. |

@Guest Are you referring to a regular or electronic purchase order? And to confirm, are you saying that after the receiving is complete that costs are changing on the purchase order?
