All fuel and propane orders should be able to be put on route without failing. Once the order is complete it should go to its intended payment option that was taken at the time of order. So, if an order was taken to be paid by credit card, once delivery made, the card should be processed for that completed order. If the card was declined, then it would go into a group of "Orders unsuccessful to settle." If the credit limit wasn't high enough to settle to A/R, then it goes into this group. If the driver missed picking up a check, then it goes into this group "Orders unsuccessful to settle". The number of employees that must touch an order beforehand is extensive and unnecessary. A customer's credit limit should not have to be raised to accommodate an order when being paid by credit card, check, cash, or even credit balance on account. The credit limit should not determine if an order can be routed when it is not even being settled to A/R. We have thousands of orders that are paid by credit card, check or settled to A/R that have a credit balance on the account. The order should be put on route, delivery completed, then settled to its payment option. If at that time, the delivery does not settle it should then go to the "Orders unsuccessful to settle" group, then dealt with at that time. The current way holds up the delivery process and wastes employees valuable time when it is just a C.O.D order. If the order is placed on route, delivered and then settled by way it was intended at the time of order, it cuts down on any unnecessary waste of multiple employee's time.
