What problem does this Idea solve?
Per user That report is the most valuable piece of information that I can get out of Ag Merchant as I like to update my balance sheet at least every two weeks.
Net Available: I share this weekly with the sales staff so we are never oversold. As this number creeps towards zero, it triggers me to re order. On Hand: Nice number to have as it should adequately reflect the floor regardless of pre pays and bookings. On PO’s: Feeds into net available number, which it should but I can quickly assess my PO’s all in one spot in a good format. Booked: Pulls off of net available, which it should. Pre Paid: Pulls off of net available, which it should. WAC: I like this one, it’s always accurate. As stated above, if I have a PO in, I will physically adjust the dollar amount so my WAC also takes into consideration the new batch that is on PO. On Hand Value: Always accurate based on WAC. PO Value: Never accurate because it defaults to last cost since I have not paid for it. It will if I enter an AP, but most times I don’t as I have negotiated some terms, so I update this based on open PO’s. Booking Value: As we have talked about, be nice if it went back to being broken and gave me a value of the inventory hit vs the sales prices garnered. Pre Paid Value: Same as above, be nice if it reflected inventory value hit vs sales price.
If the prices were added as a column………I could quickly add a calculation to arrive at a total sales value if I were to sell out of net available.
Long story short:
On Hand Value minus Booking Value minus Prepaid Value allows me to update balance sheet better as a pre paid liability………when they calculate sales prices, I have to figure it myself. |
